Let me give you a few examples.

Blowback is all about being in the intelligence/crime business and trying to balance the dangers of what you do for living with the dangers of actually having a family, and the fact that the latter can be as dangerous and different ways is the former. If you are ever looking for the Burn Notice RPG, this is going directly to that. RPGNet has a pretty good review of the game as a whole and there are a number of resources available if you want to look into it further.

Hollowpoint focuses more on the mission at hand in somewhat less on the back story, but it truly hinges on bad people doing bad jobs – which is sometimes exactly what you want. It’s got a great system, nice and tight, and it gives you all the tools that you need to get your hands dirty.

Killshot is a game that doesn’t get talked about nearly as much as it deserves, which is a total shame. More like Hollowpoint than Blowback, it exists in a more open narrative space in between. If anything, I feel that it’s a little more crunchy mechanically than Hollowpoint, but that’s purely a matter of taste. You can pick it up over on Drive-Through RPG, assuming the DDoS they been suffering today has passed.

There are lots of games available out in the in the field if this is the kind of setting you want to explore, and I can heartily recommend any or all of the above.Alexander "SquidLord" Williamshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02864969288410424271noreply@blogger.com
